Eltham and District Woodwork Club Annual Exhibition
Annual exhibition at the Eltham Community Centre
First prize in last year's annual raffle drawn at the exhibition
For many years, the club has held an annual exhibition at the Eltham Community Centre in conjunction with the Eltham Rotary Fair. The event runs over the entire weekend and offers free entry to all visitors. A raffle is also held, featuring handcrafted items made by club members, with the draw taking place at the venue on Sunday afternoon.
Members display a wide range of work, showcasing both the variety and the high standard of craftsmanship achieved over the past year. Most items are available for purchase and members may take commissions to provide additional pieces. In addition a sales table is located in the foyer, offering a further selection of usually smaller and more moderately priced items.
A large demonstration area provides visitors with the opportunity to watch members and guest demonstrators at work, showcasing their woodworking techniques. It includes a central area, set up with multiple tables, where members assist children in assembling woodworking project kits. Past projects have included bird boxes, periscopes, and a variety of wooden toys—all provided free of charge for children to make and keep.
